Chakanyuka Mazhambe

A holder of an MBA, Electronic Engineering and Applied Physics degrees and several telecommunications and computing certificates. Mazhambe has been involved with LEAD since its conception.

He has worked at the University of Zimbabwe as a Teaching Assistant, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and TelOne as Graduate Trainee Engineer. Mazhambe worked for TelOne for 15 years where he held various portfolios from Engineer, Senior Engineer, Manager to Departmental Head. He has extensive experience in Telecommunications Network Setup and Management, Business Development, Strategic Planning (Strategy Formulation and Implementation and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). During his stint with TelOne, he was seconded to a UNIDO/UNDP Project on the Implementation of Telecommunications Equipment manufacture in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. In addition to being the project manager, Mazhambe was also involved in sourcing for donor funds from Europe as well as the region as the project was also a donor funded initiative.

Mazhambe left TelOne in 2006 to pursue business interests by establishing a company which he still runs. He is still involved in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Mazhambe currently sits on the National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF) ICT Taskforce which advises the Government on ICT issues, including the formulation of the National ICT Policy
